This is a vintage, huge Goodyear Tyres sign that is vertically orientated. It’s a single-sided, thick, heavy porcelain enamel sign that was used to advertise petrol stations and vehicle repair shops. This vintage sign dates from the 1940s. The background is mostly navy blue, with yellow logos and typography. It is in original, unrestored form, as are all of our signs, and as can be seen in the photos. It is in good condition for an 80-year-old signboard, but does show indications of wear and age. The sign face has a number of tiny dings, with the most major harm towards the top, under the letter “G.” We feel that signs should be left in their original state because the flaws are part of the sign’s history and story.
