Vintage Tin Toy Lehmann Sedan Car

This is a fantastic antique Greppert & Kelch of Brandenberg, Germany tin lithographed windup green limousine from around 1940. The roundness and form of this smaller-scale limousine are endearing. The majority of limos from the late 1920s and 1930s have a more boxy design. The model tin toy in the “Gundka” line from G&K (Greppert & Kelch) is more streamlined and angled, probably predicting the impending trend. Some of the windows are rounded, and the corners have been flattened. The windup is effective. The front wheels are likewise controlled by a little tab and pivot on the toy. The wheels are tilted to make the steering lever easier to operate; this is part of the toy’s design. With no restorations, repairs, breaks, or touch-ups, this piece is in excellent condition. The lithos are in good general condition, with the normal signs of age and use such as dust, patina, scratches, surface rusting, scuffs, and chipping.
