Agfa Gevaert Signboard

Double-sided porcelain Metal Sign. This sign is made of solid 14 gauge steel and is an original vintage Agfa porcelain metal sign. The term AGFA is an abbreviation of Aktien Gesellschaft Für Anilin-Fabrikation, which was founded in 1868 in Germany. They were supposed to make photographic chemicals first, and then, starting in 1925, they were supposed to start making cameras. Agfa and Geveart merged in 1964 to become the Agfa Gevaert Company, giving it a global position in picture products. This signboard dates from 1940 in the United States.
