This large and substantial molded plaster model of the iconic Mid-Century Modern Greyhound ‘Scenicruiser’ bus has no maker’s marks, but is presumed to have been made in the United States in approximately 1955. These models reportedly served as display pieces in bus terminals and travel agency offices. Understandably, only a limited number of these models were ever produced, and only a few have survived, given their fragile composition. Greyhound Bus Lines historians and collectors refer to this example as the 54 “Silver Sided Scenic” because it is the first of three variations of the plaster bus models made between 1954 and 1959. Due to usage over the years, wear and tear are evident. The overall condition can be considered good.
