Annapurna is a well-known deity that represents the sustainer of wealth and is associated with food and nourishment. The Sanskrit words “Anna” and “Purna” imply food and grains, respectively, and “full” or “complete” respectively. In Varanasi or Banaras, Mother Goddess Annapurneshwari is the ruling deity. Typically, images of Annapurna show her carrying a bowl of rice and a ladle in each hand. The grain bowl stands in for the wealth of nourishment mom gives to all of her kids. She appears to be seated on a throne. It originated in Maharashtra.
