The goddess of food and the kitchen is Annapurna. She is a manifestation of Lord Shiva’s wife, Goddess Parvati. She is the goddess of sustenance and she never lets any of her followers go to bed hungry. She is also regarded as the Kashi goddess in Uttar Pradesh. Because the goddess provides enlightenment for the soul as well as the body, Kashi or Varanasi is referred to as the “city of light.” She also gives the inspiration to pursue knowledge.
