Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, the supreme God of the Hindus. This old sculpture depicts Bala Krishna, or infant Krishna, having fun while holding a candy-filled right hand. Baby Krishna had a reputation for being naughty and lively. There is no base for this tiny bronze sculpture of the plump infant Krishna crawling. The right hand is holding up a round pat of butter while the other rests on the floor and the right leg is supported by the foot. He is decked out in a girdle and several armlets and anklets. It originated in Maharashtra.
