Ayyanar On Elephant Sculpture II

Ayyanar is generally seen sitting on a pedestal or on a horse. This form, where he’s seated on an elephant together with his consorts, isn’t common. He’s primarily worshipped together with the guardian folk deities of Tamil Nadu. Originated in Karnataka.
